Story

The story is set in the “Zone of the Enders” universe. The year is 2173, and in search of a valuable resource called Metatron, humanity has expanded its reach to Mars and the moons of Jupiter, establishing entire colonies there. However, Earth keeps the colonists—known by the derogatory term “Enders”—on a tight leash, and discrimination is rampant. Food supplies are scarce, citizens’ freedom of movement is restricted, and many Martians have attempted to rebel against Earth—though without much success. The game tells the story of a 17-year-old boy named Cage Midwell, who works on the interplanetary express ship “Bonaparte III” alongside his close friend (and idol) Ares Enduwa. But during a routine voyage, Cage spots a woman sneaking into the cargo holds and follows her. At that moment, the ship is attacked by a powerful black Orbital Frame. Cage and the girl, who introduces herself as Myona Alderan, climb into a mysterious LEV housed on the ship and flee, eventually making an emergency landing on Mars. They are quickly captured and accused of being responsible for the crash. To make matters worse, Myona has completely lost her memory. But shortly after their imprisonment, they are freed by a leader of the “Anti-Terrestrial League” named Deckson Geyse. His faction, BIS (Born In Space), quickly rushes to their aid and rescues them, and Cage finds himself caught up in the escalating conflict between Earth and Mars.
