Yoshi's Island DS

Yoshi's Island DS

Yoshi's Island DS is a 2D platformer for the Nintendo DS from the Yoshi's Island series. It is the sequel to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, in which Kamek and the Toadies kidnapped all the babies in the world to find the Star Children, a group of seven babies who possess powerful stars in their hearts. Although the game is heavily derived from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, including the general gameplay, themes and graphics, it differs from its predecessor mainly in that it takes advantage of the Nintendo DS's double screen to display the levels, and in that there are multiple babies that Yoshi can carry on his back, all of which have special abilities required to complete the levels.

Story

A mysterious floating island has suddenly appeared over peaceful Yoshi's Island. Shortly after its arrival, a gaggle of children from the island school disappears. Fortunately, Baby Mario, Baby Peach, Baby Donkey Kong and Baby Wario manage to prevent their abduction. Now Yoshi and the four young superstars must embark on a wild and colorful quest to rescue the children and investigate the ominous island that hovers over them.
