Story
2022: The dawn The era of AI has dawned. The world is in chaos after a prototype combat robot - banned by law and awaiting certain destruction by the Xera Corporation - has developed a consciousness of its own, escaped and begun to multiply. Failed attempts to shut down the AI remotely have triggered a war that humanity cannot afford to lose. Nation turned against nation in the battle for control of the resources to defend against the robots. With the world military's attention elsewhere, disenfranchised agents gathered to scavenge what was left of the Xera Corporation's facilities, establishing two forward bases of operations, safe zones on either side of the forest that was the hiding place for humanity's greatest failure. There are no rules of engagement between these bases, because for some, nothing less than the future of the human race is at stake; for others, a potentially unlimited paycheck; and for still others, perhaps political leverage. For all, it's all about survival. But no one expected the robots to wait.
