Story

The whole story—reveals everything: “In the beginning, Deus was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was generally considered a mistake. Deus, an unknown, space-faring civilization, was originally intended to serve as a biological weapon. To power Deus, a being called ‘Wave Existence’ is summoned from another dimension and held captive within Deus’s propulsion system, the Zohar. However, its creators consider Deus too powerful to deploy and attempt to get rid of it by sending it away on a spaceship called the Eldridge. Deus, who is a sentient organism, discovers the plan to destroy him and attacks the Eldridge during the flight. After much unnecessary use of the word “evacuate,” the Eldridge crashes on a nearby planet. The sole survivor of the crash is a young boy—the first incarnation of Fei—who cried out for his mother. Although his physical form was trapped in Zohar, the “Wave Existence” managed to infuse the boy—who had looked at her during the attack—with its power to destroy Deus and free itself. The “Wave Existence” then created a woman—Elly—in the image of Fei’s mother and imbued her with her will. To defend itself, Deus used a part of itself to create the first humans—Cain, Gazel, and Miang. Miang possesses the Ouroboros gene (or Urobulos, according to Professor Daravon ^_^), which is passed on to all women in the world, since they are all descended from her. This gene enabled every woman to become Miang, thus guaranteeing her immortality. The next time we see Fei and Elly, they are in their second incarnation (the “Wave Existence” causes them to be reborn again and again); Fei is named Abel, and Elly is, as always, Elly. They are on the run from Cain, who kills Elly. The third incarnation of Fei and Elly takes place in the Zeboim civilization (which, I believe, is meant to represent present-day Earth). Here, people live in flying cities above the ground and fight using giant robots called Gears, which use the energy emitted by Zohar to function. However, genetic defects have caused many people, including Elly, to be unable to have children. Kim (Fei), who appears to be a scientist, creates an artificial human with self-healing nanomachines, whom he names Emeralda. At that moment, guards storm in and kill Elly—and presumably Kim as well. As the fourth incarnation dawns, only a single flying city remains of the fallen Zeboim civilization: Solaris, ruled by Emperor Cain and the Gazel Ministry. Solaris rules the world from above, but a rebel group—which includes Lacan (Fei’s fourth incarnation), Sophia/Elly (her real name appears to be Elly, but in Nisan she is known as Sophia), Krelian, as well as Roni and Rene Fatima, is fighting against them. The land dwellers are supported by Shevat, a new flying city being built under the supervision of Queen Zephyr on the Tower of Babel (which is also part of the Ft. Jasper weapons system). Three gurus also live in Shevat—Gaspar, Taura Melchior, and Balthasar. Taura teaches Krelian about nanotechnology. However, Shevat decides to reveal the rebels’ location to Solaris in exchange for its own safety. Solaris immediately attacks the rebel camp in Nisan, catching the troops off guard. To defend her people, Sophia/Elly sends her ship on a suicide mission against the Gebler forces. Her comrades escape, but Krelian completely loses his mind and runs off, declaring that if there is to be no God, he will create one himself. Lacan, too, loses control and is split into two parts by the “Wave Existence”—his body becomes Grahf, while his soul passes into its next incarnation. Soon after, a series of mysterious monsters called Diabolos appear and attack the world. Solaris and the land dwellers agree to a temporary truce to fight the Diabolos together. With the power of the Omnigears—such as Roni’s Andvari—the humans emerge victorious. During the conflict, however, the Gazels are killed, and their personalities are stored in the databases of Solaris’s SOL-9000 computer. After the war, Solaris founds “-Ethos-,” a pseudo-religion through which she controls the Land Dwellers, and begins using her Soylent system to transform the test subjects of her genetic experiments into food products, or “Wels.” A special drug, the “Limiter,” is mixed into the food, rendering those who consume it—that is, all the land dwellers—incapable of resisting Solaris. As the loser of the war, Shevat goes into hiding behind its gate. Roni and Rene found Aveh, and Kislev is also founded by some other guy (we don’t know who). Meanwhile, Krelian has joined Solaris to continue his mission of reviving Deus. Several hundred years later, hardly anything has changed. Solaris has fomented a war on the surface between Aveh and Kislev to prevent the Earthlings from gaining power. Krelian, who pulls the strings behind the scenes for Solaris, is attempting to establish contact with the Wave of Existence.
