X-COM: UFO Defense

You'll take control of X-COM: an organization created by the world's governments to combat the ever-growing alien threat. Shooting down UFOs is just the beginning: you'll have to lead a squad of heavily armed soldiers over different terrains while they investigate the UFO crash site. Fight the aliens with automatic rifles, rocket launchers and even tanks to recover useful technologies, weapons or life forms. Successful ground assault missions allow X-COM scientists to analyze the alien objects. Each new breakthrough brings you a little closer to understanding the technology and culture of the alien races. Once you have enough research data on the superior weapons and skills of the UFOs, you can create weapons with the same capabilities. In the fight against the powerful alien forces, you will have to make every important decision. But you also have to keep an eye on the world political situation: Governments might be forced into secret pacts with the aliens and then start cutting funding for X-COM.
