Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is the eleventh part of the Wolfenstein series and a sequel to 2014's Wolfenstein: The New Order. The game follows the main protagonist, William Joseph "B.J." Blazkowicz, in his efforts to spark a second American revolution. The game is played from a first-person perspective and most of the levels are completed on foot. The story is divided into chapters that players complete in order to progress. A binary decision in the prologue changes the entire storyline of the game; some characters and minor plot points are exchanged throughout the timelines. The game offers a variety of weapons, most of which can be wielded ambidextrously. A cover system is also present.

Story

After the events of the first game, in which General Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse was eliminated, the Kreisau Circle retrieves the badly wounded William "B.J." Blazkowicz from Deathshead's fortress before destroying it with an atomic cannon. He is still recovering from his injuries on a stolen submarine called Eva's Hammer. Suddenly, the submarine is attacked by Frau Engel, a sadistic Nazi commander, and Caroline is captured. Blazkowicz devises a plan to be captured and taken to Engel's airship, the Ausmerzer, which keeps the submarine afloat. Engel tries to get her daughter Sigrun to behead Caroline, but she refuses, whereupon Engel kills Caroline herself. Sigrun changes her mind and attacks Engel, allowing Blazkowicz to use Caroline's armor. Blazkowicz uncouples Eva's hammer from the exterminator and escapes back to the submarine with Caroline's body. With Caroline's armor, B.J. is now ready to return to the States, avenge his friends, kill every Nazi in sight, and start the second American Revolution.
