Willow
The version of Willow released for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Famicom is an adventure game in the style of The Legend of Zelda. In the game, the player takes on the role of Willow. Unlike in the movie and the arcade game, Willow travels mostly alone and only briefly meets other characters. In the tradition of The Legend of Zelda, Willow has a sword and a shield, many additional items and a variety of spells. Over the course of the game and by defeating enemies, Willow collects experience points and levels up, just like in a role-playing game.
Story
Long ago, in a time of magic and sorcery, an evil sorceress named Queen Bavmorda ruled the land with a reign of terror. According to legend, a baby was born that will destroy the evil ruler, but the queen vows to kill the child first. Now the villagers of Nelwyn must band together to help Willow, the child's chosen protector. As Willow, you'll have to travel through mysterious forests and villages - first on the run from the queen and her demons, then in search of a way to end her reign of terror. You'll gather an arsenal of swords, shields and, above all, magic that you'll need for your final confrontation. Outnumbered by the Nockmaar army, you must rely on your inner strength and determination to destroy the evil queen - before it's too late!
