Wild Arms

Wild Arms is a role-playing game with a Western theme, developed by the Japanese software company Media.Vision. Originally released in Japan in 1996 for the Sony PlayStation video game console, it was later translated and released in North America in 1997 and in Europe by Sony Computer Entertainment in 1998. It is not only one of the first role-playing games for the PlayStation, but also one of the few that is set in and takes place in the American West. The game has 2D computer graphics for the normal gameplay, while the combat sequences are rendered in 3D.

Story

Wild Arms is set in the fantasy world of Filgaia and follows the adventures of a band of rogues and adventurers called Dream Chasers, who roam the world in search of excitement and fortune. The player takes control of a boy named Rudy who has the ability to operate powerful weapons called Ancient Relic Machines (ARMs), forbidden remnants from a lost age that resemble guns. Together with his companions Jack and Cecilia, the group must use their respective abilities to navigate the vast wastelands and dungeons of Filgaia and stop an otherworldly threat from resurrecting their lost leader and destroying the world
