Warzone 2100

Warzone 2100

In the late 21st century, NASDA (North American Strategic Defense Agency) has developed and commissioned a massive missile defense system that includes a network of nuclear-tipped satellites and ground-based launchers. But something went terribly wrong during routine maintenance.... While most survivors band together in scavenger bands to survive, a group of people calling themselves "The Project" attempt to rebuild civilization using pre-war technology. Warzone 2100 is a real-time strategy game originally developed by Pumpkin Studios and published by Eidos Interactive, and now being developed by the Warzone 2100 Project. Compared to other real-time strategy games, it focuses more on artillery, radar and counter-battery technologies, more frequent cinematic updates during the gameplay, an extensive research tree and a vehicle design system. Outside of the story, there is only one faction in Warzone 2100. This limits the variety that can be expected from real-time strategy games, although the single faction is very complex. Basically, Warzone 2100 plays similarly to Earth 2150 with 3D units and terrain, customizable vehicles, a lack of traditional infantry, the use of "research" to acquire new technologies, and the differentiation of vehicle types.
