Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness

Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness

Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness is a strategy video game published by Blizzard Entertainment, released in 1995 for MS-DOS. Warcraft 2 is a successor to the popular real-time strategy game Warcraft. The game contains many improvements over the previous version in terms of graphics, sound and playability. The multiplayer mode has also been greatly improved, allowing up to 8 players to participate in the wonderful multiplayer battles.

The First War brought the fall of Azeroth, following the Orc campaign in Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. The survivors of Azeroth have fled by sea to the human kingdom of Lordaeron, and the orcs have decided to conquer Lordaeron, in what is known as the Second War. Both sides have acquired allies and new abilities, including sea and air units and more powerful spellcasters. In the Second War, the orcs are initially successful, but the humans and their allies seize the initiative, thanks in part to an orc rebellion instigated by the warlock Gul'dan, who wants to raise the sunken Tomb of Sargeras. Eventually, Alliance forces push the Horde to Blackrock Spire, but Anduin Lothar, the Alliance commander, is killed there. In the final battle for the Dark Portal in Azeroth, the Alliance destroys an orc clan and captures the orc supreme commander and the remnants of his forces. Hoping to prevent further invasions, the Alliance destroys the Dark Portal.
