Virtua Tennis 4

"Virtua Tennis 4" is an action-packed tennis game that focuses more on fast-paced matches than on realistic simulation. At the heart of the game is Career Mode, where you create your own avatar. The goal is simple: reach the top within four seasons. Here, the player has various ways to improve their tennis player, such as through training sessions (arcade mini-games like collecting eggs) to boost stats, by purchasing new clothing with prize money, or by completing matches. The menu for this mode is structured like a board game. Other game modes include singles matches, Party Mode (where you play the aforementioned mini-games), and Arcade Mode (where you have to win as many matches in a row as possible). Here, players can choose from 19 licensed athletes (plus retired athletes in the PlayStation 3 version at the time of release). The standard controls for returning the ball involve selecting the desired shot, such as spin and general direction. When a special meter fills up, players can execute a particularly powerful shot.
