Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil

Embodiment of Scarlet Devil has two playable characters to choose from, each with two types of spell cards. Reimu Hakurei can cover a large area of the screen with weaker attacks, while Marisa Kirisame relies on her speed and power to compensate for her shorter attack range. Bombs behave differently depending on the character and type selected, causing varying amounts of damage. Unlike its predecessor Mystic Square, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil features an "automatic item collection" function that allows you to collect all items on the screen by moving to the top of the screen at full power, as well as a counter-bomb system that allows you to avoid a fatal hit by immediately using a bomb. Although the main game consists of six stages in total, the game ends after stage 5 in Easy mode.
