Top Gear Rally

Top Gear Rally

On the Nintendo 64, Top Gear Rally featured a realistic physics model with working suspension. This was an impressive new development in gameplay at the time. Road surfaces, including their bumps, were accurately modeled to give the player the feeling of actually driving a car. The performance of each vehicle in the game was unique. Not only in terms of engine performance, but also in terms of tire grip, suspension stiffness, steering, and different drive modes such as front-wheel, rear-wheel, and all-wheel drive. The game also offers the possibility of damaging the vehicles, although the damage has no effect on performance. The game has a soundtrack that consists of trance-style melodies. The electronic XM music was composed by Barry Leitch, who also worked on the Super Nintendo Top Gear versions.
