Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft

Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft

Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft is a platform and third-person shooter game developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive. It is the third part of the Tomb Raider series and the sequel to Tomb Raider II. The gameplay system is similar to that of the previous game. Lara's abilities include running, jumping, climbing, swimming, rolling, crouching, crawling, sprinting and swinging on poles and vines. In this part, some new dangers have been added, including cold water, in which Lara can only swim for a limited time, dangerous underwater creatures (e.g. piranhas), and the treacherous quicksand, which will swallow the heroine if the player isn't careful and fast enough to prevent her from falling into it.

Story

Intrepid archaeologist Lara Croft goes to India in search of a legendary stone that once belonged to the Infada tribe. Shortly after finding the valuable stone, she meets Dr. Willard, the head of an organization called RX Tech. Willard is interested in an ancient Polynesian city built by the inhabitants of a now-defunct civilization who worshipped a mysterious meteorite that hit Earth millions of years ago. Willard tells Lara that the Infada Stone is actually one of the four artifacts that the ancient Polynesians made from the material of the meteorite's core. Willard suggests that Lara look for the other three, which are scattered and hidden in different regions of the planet.
