ToeJam & Earl

ToeJam & Earl

ToeJam & Earl is a dungeon crawler from the early 1990s. The game is about two alien rappers who crash-landed on Earth and parody the urban culture of the 1980s. The game's design was heavily influenced by the role-playing game Rogue, adopting features from there such as the random generation of levels and items. The game is played from a 2D top-down perspective and includes both a single-player and a two-player cooperative mode. The latter displays a single screen when both characters are around, but splits it when they are not. When you play the game with two players, you'll be able to see dialogs and jokes between the characters that you won't hear in single-player mode.

Story

Two radio-loving aliens named ToeJam and Earl crash land on a strange planet called Earth after colliding with a meteorite. They soon discover that they are dealing with a hostile planet whose crazy inhabitants will do anything to bring the harmless aliens to their knees. With the help of some friendly earthlings and random item boxes scattered around the planet, ToeJam and Earl begin their adventure through 25 levels to find 10 pieces of their spaceship so they can return to their home planet, Funkotron.
