Tobal 2
The combat system in Tobal 2 is the same as in its predecessor. The player can move freely within the 3D battle arenas as long as they face the opponent. The assigned buttons allow the player to execute high, medium, and low attacks. As in Tobal No. 1, the grab and block system offers the player a variety of offensive and defensive maneuvers. A new, unblockable fireball attack has been added for each character. Tobal 2 was released in Japan on the same day as Sony’s Dual Analog Controller and is considered the first game compatible with this controller. Graphically, compared to Tobal No. 1, the game features Gouraud shading and higher-resolution character models, but still runs at 60 frames per second.
