The Surge
The Surge is a science fiction variant of Dark Souls, developed by the Lords of the Fallen team. A catastrophic event has incapacitated you on your first day at work.... You wake up equipped with a heavy exoskeleton in a destroyed part of the complex. Crazed robots, crazy augmented colleagues and a rogue AI - everything wants to kill you. Defeat deadly enemies and giant bosses in close combat. Aim and cut off specific limbs of your enemies with a next-generation loot system where you loot what you dismember. Equip, upgrade and craft new weapons and armor that you cut from your enemies, and improve yourself with a new way of leveling up.
Story
The Surge is set in a heavily dystopian future where the Earth is nearing the end of its life. Those who remain in the overpopulated cities must work to survive, as social programs are saturated by an aging population and increasing environmental diseases. The world of The Surge offers a very gloomy vision of the future, in which the evolution of our technology, our society and our relationship with the environment has led to a decadent state of human civilization. Equipped with an advanced CREO exo-suit, you'll be able to specialize in a variety of combat styles, thanks to the almost limitless combinations of add-ons and dozens of makeshift weapons you recover from the industrial complex. Adjust your equipment to fit your play style and the challenges ahead. The Metroidvan levels open up as your core power increases, letting you overload doors that your suit couldn't destroy before, and opening up new paths for you to explore. The CREO facility is huge, and if you want to find and craft the best equipment and weapons, you'll have to search every area for secrets and hidden items.
