The Lost World: Jurassic Park
"The Lost World: Jurassic Park" is an action-adventure video game developed by Appaloosa Interactive and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It is based on the movie of the same name, which in turn is based on the novel by Michael Crichton. Unlike the earlier “Jurassic Park” games for the Genesis, this game features a bird’s-eye view, similar to “Jurassic Park” on the Super NES. The player takes on the role of an unnamed character who must capture dinosaurs on Isla Sorna while simultaneously preventing rival hunters from transporting dinosaurs to the mainland. The game consists of nineteen missions spread across four sections of the island, designated “Sites One” through “Four.” At the end of each section, boss levels must be completed to advance to the next section. A second player can assist in co-op mode as Ian Malcolm, or both players can compete against each other in competitive mode. Weapons such as a taser, a tranquilizer gun, a shotgun, and grenades can be used against hunters and dinosaurs. Sometimes, the player can also drive vehicles such as an SUV and a hovercraft.
Story
The player is sent to Isla Sorna by InGen as a hunter (Player 1) and Ian Malcolm (Player 2) to capture some dinosaurs and battle another group of hunters (it is unknown whether they were sent by Peter Ludlow, Biosyn, or simply by poachers).
