The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth

Players control heroes or villains from the famous Lord of the Rings movies. With hero characters similar to those from the Warcraft series, you control both armies and all unique heroes. The game sticks pretty closely to the movies, and there are even scenes from the movies in the game. The game not only has a huge campaign in which you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, but also an evil campaign in which players play as the evil forces of Middle-earth. With many different races from all over Middle-earth, a huge spell tree that allows you to customize your game, and a unique base building layout, the game was really great for its time.
