The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time and uses the same engine and visual style as its predecessor. The game keeps the traditional elements of the Zelda games, as well as the elements introduced in Ocarina of Time, such as active blocking with a shield, different throwing items and the use of melodies played on the ocarina to solve puzzles. Compared to the previous Zelda games, this part is more focused on interacting with NPCs and offers a greater variety of items, optional quests and minigames. There is also a time system that spans three days. This cycle must be reset periodically to advance in the game.

Story

After the events of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Link rides his horse Epona into the Lost Woods and is attacked by a goblin called Skull Kid, who wears a mysterious mask, accompanied by the fairies Tael and Tatl. Skull Kid transforms Link into a small plant-like creature called Deku Scrub and takes away his horse and his magic ocarina. Shortly after, Tatl joins Link and agrees to help him return to his original form. During a meeting with a wandering mask seller, it turns out that Skull Kid is wearing the Mask of Majora, an ancient item used in hexing rituals that summons a menacing moon that hovers over the land of Termina. Link has exactly three days to find a way to prevent this.
