The eleventh game in the KOF series after The King of Fighters 2003. According to Sega: "For over 10 years, the King of Fighters series has been the first choice of gamers around the world. The 11th Team of Fighters continues that tradition. KOF11 is suitable for one to two players, with continuous buy-in. Choose from 33 fighters, including 4 new characters. A fifth control button has been added to improve your skills by giving your opponent a devastating blow if you hit at the right moment. A new skill gauge performs a variety of tag-off moves and new attacks. A player can also create a three-fighter tag team by selecting three fighters.

Story

In the last part of the series, Mukai, a member of a group called "Those from the Far Country", stole the seal of the demon Orochi. Ash Crimson took advantage of this situation to attack Chizuru Kagura in her weakened state and steal the Yata Mirror, which robbed her of her powers. In The King of Fighters XI, a new tournament is introduced, in which both established fighters and newcomers participate. The tournament is hosted by "Those from the Past", a weapons expert named Shion and a dimensional manipulator named Magaki, who act as the game's sub and final bosses. After their defeat, Magaki tries to steal Orochi's power, but is instead assassinated by his own ally.
