The King of Fighters '97
The King of Fighters '97 is a fighting game from 1997, developed by SNK for the Neo Geo arcade and the home console. It is the fourth game in The King of Fighters series. It was only ported to the Neo Geo CD in Japan, as well as to the PlayStation and the Sega Saturn.
Story
"The KOF '96 tournament ended with an incident that happened right after the end of the tournament." The incident itself and the subsequent accident were officially reported as the result of terrorist activity by an unknown group, but the details of the terrorists' identity, motives and subsequent whereabouts remained a mystery. Despite this incident, however, the KOF '96 tournament was an overwhelming commercial success. A few months later, the event sparked a fighting craze, and several major companies interested in the fad offered to sponsor more tournaments, leading to a demand for the highly anticipated KOF '97. The excitement reached around the world and in no time KOF '97 was launched.
