The King of Fighters 2000
King of Fighters 2000 features the Active Striker System, an improved striker calling system that allows players to call their striker character in any situation, whether they are attacking or being attacked by the enemy, allowing them to use their strikers in combos. In addition to the numerous nostalgic SNK characters returning as Another and Maniac Striker, KOF 2000 also welcomes new additions such as Ramon, Vanessa, Seth, Lin, Hinako Shijo and Kula Diamond.
Story
After the incident at the last tournament, the commander of the Ikari team, Heidern, is determined to find out the target of the Nests cartel so that he can stop them from their reckless scheme. Another commander and longtime friend of Heidern's named Ling tells the experienced fighter that K′ and Maxima once worked for Nests and that they may hold the key to the mysterious organization's whereabouts. With this information, Heidern decides to use the next KOF tournament to lure both K' and Maxima out so they can be captured and interrogated to tell the authorities about the Nests cartel. What Heidern doesn't know, however, is that Ling has his own plans.
