The House of the Dead III

The House of the Dead III

The House of the Dead III is a 2002 lightgun arcade game with a horror-zombie survival theme and the third installment of the House of the Dead video game series, developed by Wow Entertainment and Sega. It was later ported to the Xbox (2003), Microsoft Windows (2005), the Wii (2008) in a compilation with The House of the Dead 2, and the PlayStation 3 (2012) with PlayStation Move support. The game continues the story of the previous games and introduces new gameplay concepts such as branching storylines. The game's protagonist is Lisa Rogan, the daughter of Thomas Rogan, the main character of the first game, and players control Lisa, G or Daniel Curien.

Story

The zombie plague has spread across the world, wreaking havoc as civilization has collapsed. In 2019 (16 years after the events of The House of the Dead 4), a paramilitary force led by retired AMS agent Thomas Rogan infiltrates the EFI Research Facility, a research center formerly owned by Dr. Roy Curien and located in an undisclosed location in Europe or North America, to investigate what led to the collapse of the world. During the mission, his entire team is killed until only he and his second-in-command, Captain Dan Taylor, are left. When they manage to find the answer in a huge laboratory, Death, a giant mutant who serves as the facility's guard, kills Taylor and injures Rogan. While struggling to survive, Rogan is approached by a stranger in a semi-serious robe who offers to help him. Contact with him is broken off. Two weeks later, on October 31, Rogan's daughter Lisa, accompanied by his former partner, semi-retired agent "G," arrives at the facility to rescue him. As they make their way through the facility, they battle hordes of undead creatures before encountering Death, whom they fight twice. Later, they fight a deformed sloth, the Fool, and a mutant vine called the Sun. Along the way, Lisa muses with "G" about having to live in the shadow of her famous father and how she is often compared to him.
