House of Ashes is the third game in The Dark Pictures Anthology, a series of standalone branching horror games where the choices you make in the game determine the story and outcome. At the end of the Iraq War, special forces searching for weapons of mass destruction come across something much deadlier - a buried Sumerian temple containing a nest of creepy creatures. To survive the night underground, they must forge a brotherhood with their upper-world enemies.
Story
A military unit searching for chemical weapons comes across something much more deadly. In the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple deep beneath the Arabian desert, something evil has awakened. Wild and unstoppable, a nest of ancient and sinister creatures has found a new prey to hunt.... Terrifying discoveries and impossible choices await the unit as they try to navigate an underground labyrinth and escape the terrible threat. Will they each prioritize their own survival or will they put aside their fears and personal rivalries to fight together?
