Story

A worldwide martial arts tournament was about to reach its finals. A large prize money to be awarded to the fighter who could defeat Heihachi Mishima in the final round was an incentive for fighters from all over the world. Financed and sponsored by financial giant Mishima Zaibatsu, the first Tekken tournament began with eight fighters who had all emerged victorious from death matches around the world, all with different motives, all with the skill and power to bring down mountains. Many battles were fought. But only one fighter had the right to challenge Heihachi Mishima for the title of King of the Iron Fist. That warrior was Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi's cold-blooded son. With the scar he received from Heihachi, he takes up the fight against his father on the same field where Heihachi knocked down his own son at the age of five and threw him into a ditch. After a grueling battle that lasted hours, Kazuya emerged victorious, using skills passed down from generation to generation of the Mishima clan. As Heihachi's broken body lay on the ground, Kazuya sank to his knees and slowly lifted his father into his arms. He slowly walked to the edge of the same cliff where his father had left him to die, staring out over the landscape that was now his, and let go of his father's body. As Heihachi's body plunged into the depths, Kazuya's smile gleamed in the sunlight.... A year passed. The Mishima Zaibatsu has become even more powerful under Kazuya's leadership, and its tendrils reach to all corners of the world. Shortly after the apparent death of his father, Kazuya disappears into the shadows. But slowly rumors of his immense power and a dark side spread through the world. Exactly two years after the first Tekken tournament, a message from Mishima Zaibatsu Fortress is relayed to news outlets around the world announcing a second tournament with a thousand-fold prize purse. So the tournament begins...
