Target Earth
Target Earth is a space shooting game set in the future, in which the Earth is attacked by robots. The protagonist of the game is a pilot of a mech robot that can either run on planetary surfaces or fly in space. There are two types of levels in the game. The surface levels take place on planets or moons and allow the mech to run and jump to the end of the level while fighting enemies, like in a side-scrolling game. In the space levels, there is no gravity and the mech can move in any direction. The mech can be equipped with a wide range of machine guns, lasers and grenades.
Story
The year is 2201 and advancing technology has given humans the ability to live anywhere in space. Against this backdrop, the story of Target Earth begins with a war between Earth (and its colonies) and a cyborg army returning from the far corners of space. In the early stages of the game, the nature or purpose of these cybernetic adversaries, called Chron, is still unknown. However, it is later revealed that the Chron are the survivors of a failed space expedition (Outer Space Expeditionary Party) sent from Earth a hundred years earlier. The Earth Defense League fights for the defense of Earth. At the heart of the defense movement is the Assault Suit - a twelve-foot armored fighting machine with incredible combat capabilities. You are Rex, a commander of the Assault Suit squadron and a master of Assault Suit combat. The battle begins on Ganymede, but then shifts to battles in space, on Earth and in enemy outposts.
