Superman

Superman

Superman is an action-adventure game for the Atari 2600. It was one of the first single-player games for the system and one of the first licensed video games ever. Superman is one of the first games to use multiple screens as play areas.

Story

You are Superman. You receive a tip about a bomb threat and rush to the port of Metropolis. In a nearby phone booth, you transform into Clark Kent, the mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet, and head for the Metropolis Memorial Bridge. As you approach the bridge, it explodes! Lex Luthor, SUPERMAN's arch-nemesis, leaves the bridge in a helicopter. Some of Luthor's henchmen rush from the scene. A helicopter flies by and transports Lois Lane. Is she in trouble or did she hire the helicopter to intercept the story? This is a job for Superman! You rush back to the phone booth and turn out to be the Man of Steel. "Up, up and away" you fly to catch Lex Luthor and his gang. But be careful! Lex Luthor has released three Kryptonite satellites that will track you down. If one of them touches you, you will become weak and lose your ability to fly, catch and hold on to things...
