Super Smash Bros. Melee

A cross-platform fighting game featuring characters from Nintendo franchises such as Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Pokémon, and Fire Emblem. Unlike traditional fighting games, the goal is to knock opponents off the stage rather than deplete their health bar. Damage is calculated as a percentage and increases the distance a character is knocked back upon being hit. Players use simple one-button commands in combination with joystick movements to execute moves. The game supports up to four players simultaneously and, in addition to its multiplayer focus, offers various single-player modes. Its fast-paced, aggressive gameplay has spawned a long-standing esports scene that has endured far beyond the game’s original lifespan.
