Super Ninja Boy

"Super Ninja Boy" is an action RPG for one or two players. In two-player mode, each player controls either Jack or Ryu. In single-player mode, only Jack appears. A second player can join at any time by visiting a supermarket. The game features familiar RPG elements such as equipping various weapons and gear, as well as leveling up. The Ninja Boys are treated as a single unit, so these stats are split equally between Jack and Ryu. The action begins with battles against enemies, either through random encounters or by facing opponents visible on the map. The characters enter a side-scrolling “battle mode” where they can jump, fight, use their special moves, items, and spells, and activate various bonuses on the battlefield by breaking open bonus boxes. A battle ends and experience points are awarded when a set number of enemies have been defeated or the Ninja Boys are defeated. When encountering bosses, the gameplay switches to a turn-based system. In each round, Jack and Ryu are given commands, including the use of special items and abilities acquired throughout the game, after which they perform actions according to those commands. The opponent’s turn proceeds in the same manner. The battle ends when one of the two sides runs out of hit points.
