Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land is Mario's first outing on the Game Boy. It is a side-scrolling platformer very similar to its predecessor, Super Mario Bros. This time Mario must rescue Princess Daisy from her kidnapper Tatanga, a mysterious spaceman, rather than Princess Toadstool. The game largely follows the same formula as its predecessor: Mario defeats enemies by jumping on them and collects coins and power-ups by hitting floating blocks, with each world leading to a boss fight that is defeated by collapsing the floor. Unique to this part are two scrolling shoot-'em-up levels in which Mario controls a submarine and a plane.
Story
Once upon a time there was a peaceful world called Sarasaland. In this world there were 4 kingdoms named Birabuto, Muda, Easton and Chai. One day, the sky above Sarasaland was suddenly covered by a huge black cloud. From a crack in this cloud, the unknown space monster Tatanga appeared and tried to conquer Sarasaland. Tatanga hypnotized people in all kingdoms so that he could control them at will. In this way, he conquered Sarasaland. Now he wants to marry Princess Daisy of Sarasaland and make her his queen. When Mario learned about these events, he set out for the kingdom of Chai, where Princess Daisy is being held captive, to restore peace to Sarasaland. Can Mario defeat Tatanga, free the people from his interstellar hypnosis and rescue Princess Daisy? It all depends on you and Mario's skill. Show them, Mario!
