Stellaris
Stellaris is a real-time 4X grand strategy game set in a procedurally generated galaxy. Players control an interstellar civilization, explore star systems connected by hyperlane networks, colonize habitable worlds, and manage their empire’s economy, including resources such as energy, minerals, and alloys. The game places great emphasis on customizing your empire through species traits, ethics, forms of government, and social systems, which influence both the game’s visuals and mechanics. Gameplay revolves around diplomacy, trade, and war with other civilizations, while galactic crises in the middle and toward the end of the game bring escalating threats such as extragalactic invasions or the awakening of hostile artificial intelligences. Players can pursue various paths of advancement, including genetic engineering, cybernetic enhancements, or psionic abilities. Originally released for PC, the game was later released as a console version and expanded with numerous add-ons that introduce megastructures, new empire types, espionage mechanics, and additional crisis scenarios.
