State of Mind
State of Mind is a futuristic thriller game that deals with transhumanism. The game explores themes of separation, disconnection and reunion in a world torn between a dystopian material reality and a utopian virtual future.
Story
You are Richard Nolan, a father and journalist from Berlin, who finds out that he, his wife and his son have become victims of mind uploads. However, Richard's upload has gone wrong. As a result, he still lives in the real world, but an incomplete second version of himself also exists in a secret virtual reality project. Realizing that he is literally a man torn apart, Richard embarks on a dramatic and dangerous quest for redemption. He wants to reunite with his family and his split self. Along the way, he soon realizes that this journey is not just about himself, but about the future of humanity.
