Star Fox

Star Fox

Star Fox, released in Europe as Starwing, is a 1993 rail shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo with support from Argonaut Software for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Star Fox is the first game in the Star Fox series and is about Fox McCloud and the rest of the Star Fox team defending their homeworld Corneria against the attacking forces of Andross.

Story

The game takes place in a binary solar system called the Lylat system, inhabited by human-like animal races (e.g. foxes, frogs, dogs, birds, rabbits, monkeys, etc.). It contains the planets Corneria and Venom, which represent good and evil, respectively. Throughout the game you can visit many other planets, asteroid belts, space stations, etc. Which path the player chooses will affect what places he/she will encounter. Andross, a scientist, has escaped to the planet Venom after being banished from the planet Corneria. Now he has declared war on Corneria and unleashed a huge army to devastate the Lylat system. General Pepper, the commander of Corneria's defense forces, has decided to send a prototype high-performance fighter called the Arwing. However, he lacks the time to train pilots for the new fighters, so he calls together the elite mercenary team Star Fox to defeat Andross. Fox McCloud, the leader of the team, is accompanied by his teammates Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare and Slippy Toad.
