Star Control

Star Control is a science fiction war game in which the forces of the Alliance of Free Stars confront those of the predatory Ur-Quan hierarchy. The game is designed to let you quickly get familiar with the menus, options and controls. The Alliance and the Hierarchy each have seven different types of warships. Each ship has its own maneuvering and firing characteristics, and has a unique special ability that you can use in certain circumstances. Humanity is on the verge of being wiped off the galactic map. A savage group of alien races, the Ur-Quan Hierachy, has evolved into the "evil empire" of the 27th century and is ruthlessly raiding interstellar neighbors. Humanity is next on their list. Your job is to make sure they don't succeed. The entire Alliance of Free Stars battle fleet is waiting for your orders.
