Space Run: Fast and Safe Delivery

Space Run: Fast and Safe Delivery

Space Run is a PC game that mixes strategy and building spaceships in real time, taking certain mechanics from the "tower defense" system with numerous twists and hyperdynamic gameplay. Space Run is a nod to the science fiction of the 80s and pays homage to many of its tropes and references.

Story

The year is 2525, space is no longer "the final frontier". Mankind has spread to the farthest corners of the known galaxy. The only thing is that these far reaches are dangerous, full of space pirates, deadly asteroids, hostile aliens, random anomalies, and maybe even a strange space monster. But that doesn't mean the people out there don't want something too. And that's where you come in. You're Captain Buck Mann (an irony of fate, since you don't have Buck in your name). You're a "thirty-something" pilot, but honestly, you don't care about age. Age is just a number and you've never been able to do anything with numbers. The only number that matters to you is being number one. You pride yourself on being the best pilot in the galaxy, if not the universe. You once flew for Earth Force. Later, you became a hot contender on the Space Racing Tour. You're a rugged individualist, your own man, a go-anywhere man. The only problem is that you have a bit of a "gambling addiction." It keeps getting you into trouble. In your last incident, you had aces and kings in your hand - a full house, a sure win. Hard to believe you lost it all to a mutant who had four threes. Then you failed to cover the spread in the humans vs. androids rugby game. You had the androids, but didn't count on the EMP. Long story short, you now owe the mafia a lot of credits. Since you're out of money and over-indebted, you're forced to take a job as a helmsman on a big, bulky cargo ship. Unfortunately for you, you're now a "space runner," making one space trip after another. But you have the guts, the knowledge and the mojo to get the job done! You have two mottos that you use depending on the customer. "Fast, safe delivery!" - "If you need it yesterday!". When someone needs a package, you're the guy who delivers it, no questions asked. But one question is asked: How much does it cost? Your team Adaam-12: an android who is unique (or rather 12). He is your co-pilot, your second in command, your right hand, a machine. He is constantly by your side. You won him in a game of blackjack. He knows just about everything and is programmed to always be helpful and full of ideas. Still, that doesn't stop him from being snarky. Sometimes you think he thinks you work for him.
