Sledgehammer
The player takes on the role of Jack Hammer, or more precisely, his truck, either in third-person perspective or from the cockpit perspective. The truck can transform into two configurations: combat mode and race mode. In race mode, the truck can use its boosters to accelerate quickly. Once the player has installed the upgrade, they can also lay mines in race mode. Combat mode, on the other hand, activates the three weapon systems: primary, secondary, and melee weapons. By successfully completing missions and collecting gold medals, the player unlocks additional upgrades for their truck. These can either improve its performance, such as better boosters, change its appearance, or represent improvements such as a rocket launcher or circular saws on the side for its combat mode. The game is divided into six episodes with several missions that either advance the plot or simply serve to unlock new upgrades. The missions themselves are roughly divided into twelve game modes, with the final missions of each episode often combining several game modes in one. Players cannot drive their truck in every game mode. There are normal races in which the player can also use their weapons to take out the competition, or arena missions in which it's all about survival – in "Transport," for example, the player has to take a really big truck and drive it from point A to point B, while in "Bomb Car" they only drive a small vehicle equipped with a bomb. The game also offers a multiplayer mode for up to eight players, but this is limited to LAN. Furthermore, the only game modes available in multiplayer are "Arena" and "Race."
