Skate or Die

Skate or Die

Skate or Die! is a skateboarding game released in 1987 by Electronic Arts for the Commodore 64. As the first game developed by EA itself, it was intended to build on the success of Epyx sports games, with the idea coming from the Atari arcade game 720°. Up to eight players can compete against each other in five different skateboarding disciplines: freestyle ramp, high jump, downhill race, downhill jam, and pool joust. Each discipline has its own challenges and goals. The game was a commercial success, selling over 100,000 copies, and was ported to various other systems, including Apple IIGS, MS-DOS, and NES. The game's success led to a winter-themed sequel called "Ski or Die."
