Shadowrun

"Shadowrun" is an action role-playing game. It is based on the cyberpunk role-playing game "Shadowrun." The game is the second video game adaptation of "Shadowrun" and offers a more open-ended gameplay style than its 1993 counterpart, "Shadowrun" by Beam Software, which was released for the Super NES. The game is set in the “Shadowrun” universe in the 2050s. A time when the fusion of technology and human flesh is commonplace; it is roughly the time when the Matrix, a massive computer network, went online, offering the ability to plug directly into its cyberspace. It was also a time of magic’s revival: a phenomenon known as “The Awakening” occurred, during which magic returned to the world. Sorcery was once again possible, and slowly and seemingly at random, people began transforming into orcs, dwarves, elves, or trolls. This time of upheaval was not without political conflict: megacorporations began to control the world. But native shamans threatened them with their magic, and the world’s geography changed completely. The Native Americans and elves reclaimed a territory called Salish-Shidhe, near the free city of Seattle, a major city in the newly founded United Canadian and American States.
