A hopeless battle on a hostile planet with no clear end in sight! But there are stories about a lone warrior. A man who can appear out of nowhere and take out entire platoons, only to disappear back into the shadows to which he belongs. A man loyal only to his own mission and bent on revenge. He is the ultimate soldier, the last survivor of the massacred Genetic Infantrymen.... ... the Rogue Trooper!

Story

The story is set on the planet Nu-Earth, trapped in the gravity of two suns and a black hole (used by the Southers to get to their space station High Command), where a perpetual war is being waged between the Norts and the Southers, killing millions. During the war, all kinds of chemical and biological weapons were used, poisoning the planet, and troops from both sides must live in enclosed cities and venture outside only with protective gear called "bio-suits." The Southerners, through genetic manipulation (by the so-called "Genetic Geniuses"), have developed a race of warriors immune to the deadly atmosphere and therefore a superior force, the Genetic Infantry. All G.I.s have been made immune to all poisons, diseases and acids (except one). The Souther High Command uses their secret weapon in an air raid, but a traitor has betrayed the secret of the G.I.s to the Norts and they are massacred as they are dropped. This is known as the Quartz Zone Massacre. Rogue, seemingly the only surviving G.I. (until he meets Venus Bluegenes), sets out to track down the traitor general responsible and avenge the rest of the G.I.'s. Along the way, he foils numerous Nort intrigues and destroys some of Nort-land's highest figures, such as Grand Admiral Hoffa and Sergeant-Captain Natashov. All G.I.s have a biochip implanted in their skull that contains their personality traits, memories, and consciousness. When a G.I. dies, his biochip can be inserted into a slot in another G.I.'s equipment or weapon so that he can control it. The biochip can later be inserted into a new body so that the fallen G.I. can be reborn. One quote is, "We are genetic infantry - even when we are dead, we do not escape war."
