Raiden
Raiden consists of eight vertically scrolling missions in which the player controls the Raiden spaceship to avoid and destroy enemy robots, buildings, ground targets and aircraft. There are bombs and missile powerups, as well as collectible medals that increase the score. When the player dies, the fighter's fragments become projectiles that damage enemies. When you defeat the level 8 boss, the mission is complete and you get 1 million points for each completed loop. After that, it's back to level 1. This time the enemies shoot faster and at a higher speed.
Story
In the year 2090, Earth is suddenly the target of deranged aliens, the Cranassians. After the invasion, the World Alliance military builds a new, state-of-the-art weapon, the Raiden Supersonic Attack Fighter. It is based on a captured alien spaceship and is the only hope for humanity's survival.
