Popeye

Popeye

Popeye (ポパイ Popai) is an arcade game developed and published by Nintendo in 1982, based on the Popeye cartoon characters licensed by King Features Syndicate. An educational sequel was released for the Family Computer (Famicom) on November 22, 1983: Popeye no Eigo Asobi, an English learning game similar to the later Donkey Kong Jr. Math. In Popeye, two players can take turns or one player can play alone. The five highest scores are saved along with the player's three initials. Popeye was available in standard and cocktail configurations.
