The premise of PENNY RACERS for N64 is simple: drive your car as well as you can and be in the top three to reach the checkered flag. To achieve this goal, you have to avoid the missiles launched by your rivals, among other things. One way to counteract this is the barrel roll maneuver, which allows you to quickly and effectively avoid unexpected obstacles on the tracks. At the beginning, you drive a fairly unimpressive racing car. But if you beat the competition and finish in the top three, you can upgrade your car. Be merciless and steal the special features of the losing racers, such as engine and armor upgrades, special attack abilities and improved cosmetic features for the car. You have 13 different body styles and nine tracks to choose from. The cartoon racers race through city streets, ice caves and a volcano, and with the track creation mode you can design the wildest tracks you can imagine. Add a four-player race to the game and the fun quadruples as the action intensifies and the losers are downright humiliated.
