Parasite Eve

Parasite Eve is a survival horror RPG developed and published by SquareSoft (now Square Enix) for the Sony PlayStation console. The game tells the story of Aya Brea, a fresh NYPD officer who gets involved in a series of bizarre and deadly events related to a genetic mutation called mitochondria. The game combines elements of horror, science fiction and role-playing with real-time combat, exploration, puzzle solving and character development. The game's plot is inspired by the novel of the same name by Hideaki Sena, and the game mechanics were influenced by the Final Fantasy series. Parasite Eve was critically acclaimed when it was released in 1998 and is widely considered a classic of the survival horror genre.

The story follows New York police officer Aya Brea over a six-day period in 1997 as she attempts to stop the monster that is creating a creature that will destroy the human race through spontaneous human combustion. Players will be able to move freely in various open environments, using a pausable real-time combat system along with various role-playing elements.
