Omega Quintet

Omega Quintet

Omega Quintet is a mix of an idol simulation game and a Japanese role-playing game for the PlayStation 4. The player takes on the role of Takuto, the manager of the Verse Maidens, an idol group that uses the power of song and dance to fight a phenomenon called "Beep" and save the world.

Story

Omega Quintet is set in a world damaged by a phenomenon called "Beep", which degenerates people's lives by affecting their minds. The game's main characters are the "Verse Maidens", a group of idols that have the power to fight the Beep. These powers are used to fight the Beep and save humanity by giving it hope and dreams. The members of the Verse Maidens are Otoha, Kyoka, Kanadeko, Nene and Aria. Otoha is the new member of the Verse Maidens. She works hard and is always positive, but she is also still growing and tends to make clumsy mistakes. Kyoka has a strong sense of responsibility, she does her job as a Verse Maidens and cares for others, but she also has a hard time expressing emotions. Kanadeko has an explosive personality and often makes decisions without thinking clearly; Nene is very shy and often nervous and weak-willed, often shrinking back and hiding behind Kanadeko; and Aria, the oldest member of the Verse Maidens, is secretive and tends to distance herself with her speech and behavior. Other characters include Takuto, the protagonist of the Omega Quintet, who is described as a positive type and acts as the Verse Maidens' manager and bodyguard; Momoka, a veteran of the Verse Maidens; Ayumi, Momoka's manager; Shiori, Kyoka's trainer; Godou, the leader of the neighborhood watch; and Tomekichi, a fan of the Verse Maidens and leader of one of the supporting fan groups. Similar to Senran Kagura, the game features "costume destruction", in which the girls have parts of their clothes torn off when they are repeatedly hit by enemies. Another feature in the game is the "PVS (Promotion Video System)", which allows players to create their own dance video and live performances as they wish. There are over 150 dances available for the characters to do this. Omega Quintet allows players to create light waves and effects using the PlayStation Move controller and perform in the music video themselves using the PlayStation 4 camera. During in-game battles, the tension meter fills up as Takuto protects the idols when the player attacks the enemies. When it rises to a certain point, the player can activate the live mode, which gives bonuses to the idols. The player must also successfully adjust the turn order, because team attacks are formed when the characters act in succession.
