But Sutekh's shady underworld is soon infiltrated by a superhero unlike any the world has ever seen. A superhero who can merge with the darkness like a phantom. During the day, this brave crime fighter is just an ordinary citizen. But when night falls, he cloaks himself in a secret identity to track down and destroy the dark forces lurking on the midnight streets. Who is this man the press calls Nightshade? Only you can answer that... because he is you. Every night you cement your superhero status and patrol a hundred of the city's darkest corners, including King Rat's filthy underground lair and the League of Unreasonable Gentlemen. Here you'll encounter thieves, muggers and other scum that you'll either have to deal with or who will give you clues. But be warned. You are not the only night stalker. Because while you're hunting Sutekh, Sutekh is hunting you with the human printing press, the closing spiked wall, deadly jackal pits and the freezing cold freeze ray. To overcome these treacherous obstacles, you'll need to search for hidden weapons, including energy domes, power gauntlets and the Staff of Ra. More importantly, you'll need to use your problem-solving skills to outwit five crime kings who know the secrets of Sutekh's lair. The ultimate key to destroying Sutekh is, of course, your popularity. For it is a source of power, giving you the wits to decipher clues and the strength to pulverize villains and save innocent bystanders. Remember. If that hero ability ever wears off, you will no longer rule the night. You will be engulfed by it.
