It features improved graphics, all costumes previously available as DLC except Naruto (Goku) and Sakura (Hello Kitty), a new character (Kabuto Yakushi in Sage Mode), a new story chapter, and a new challenge mode with 100 missions. Each mission has different objectives that unlock various in-game items and HD illustrations. Another new feature is the decision mode, in which the player can decide their fate; there are two options to choose from. The player can choose between "Legend" (difficult) and "Hero" (easy).
