MU Online

MU Online

MU Online is an extensive fantasy role-playing game based on the legendary continent of MU. MU formed the basic framework for various online games and other subsequent games, and is considered a pioneer of the 3D MMORPG.

Story

In a millennium, the country of MU has developed and built the empire in great strides. However, as predicted in the Great Prophecy Secromicon, the continent of MU fell into overwhelming chaos. The great leaders who once ruled the continent of MU have now fallen, and the central government, due to the internal disputes and wars between the power-hungry feudal lords, has torn the empire apart, causing it to disintegrate. The millennium of peace and bounty is but a memory and dark bloodstains cover the land. The ravages of war have devastated the once beautiful land and the bloodshed knows no end. Even now, petty feudal lords ceaselessly build up their war machines in a vain attempt to restore what once was. In this time of endless bloodshed, the gates of hell have been thrown open because the blind ambition of a foolish man has been led astray. Antonias, a foolish lord blinded by ambition, was deceived by the evil sorceress Lemulia and unwittingly unleashed Kundun, the devil of darkness, upon the world, a demon who was difficult to restrain by the seal of Etramu. "Now this land shall be mine again. I have banished peace for all time ... the sun shall shine no more. This earth shall be mine, and the clever people shall be my slaves and my cattle." The ancient devil Kundun has awakened from his long sleepless slumber and now walks among the living to defile the land with his touch. Amidst the chaos, the stars have lost their courses and the stench of fear and blood permeates the land. Kundun unleashed his rage and revenge for his long imprisonment upon the land. Quickly, the now abandoned land of MU became home to Kundun's henchmen and for two long years, the evil of his rule sullied all that was once pure. Nightmare's Day, a passage in the Great Prophecy, had come true and was no longer just a word from days gone by. The sages began their studies anew, referring hopefully and longingly to the ray of light mentioned in the writings of the prophecy. Their last remaining hope lay in the power of the Seal of Etramu, the very seal that sustained Kundun's captivity. The seal was shattered into eight pieces, and only when the seal is whole again will peace return to the land.
