Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero is a story-based fighting game in which you'll take on the role of Sub-Zero and replay a series of events from the time before Mortal Kombat 1. It is the first Mortal Kombat game with side-scrolling gameplay. The game takes the 2D combat environment familiar from Mortal Kombat and transforms it into a hybrid fighter/platformer game in which you'll have to move through dangerous levels by running and jumping and fighting off digitized and polygonal enemies. Sub-Zero's interface is the same as in all MK games. To it you'll add the "Use" and "Turn" buttons, an inventory and a small RPG twist in which you'll get experience points for defeating enemies, which you can convert into new techniques and moves in the game.

Story

In a story reminiscent of Looking Glass' Thief, the Lin Kuei assassin/thief is sent to steal an important document. This mission turns out to be a test from a mysterious character (who turns out to be Quan Chi from MK4), who asks you to recover an ancient medallion with immense power once you find the object. However, once you have the medallion, Quan Chi realizes that he has in fact tricked you and the medallion is the key to awakening the demonic Shinnok (yes, the same villain from MK4). You must now become a hero against your will and chase Quan Chi through hell, hoping to find Shinnok before he does.
