Mitsume ga Tooru
Mitsume ga Tōru is a 2D action platformer from 1992. It was never released outside of Japan. It contains 5 levels with a boss fight at the end of each level. The main character's weapons are the third eye, which shoots bullets, boomerangs or lasers, and a spear (the Red Condor), which he can materialize from the air. The game is based on the manga and anime of the same name.
Story
To learn about his roots, Sharaku must investigate the mysterious ruins left to him by a long-lost civilization called the Three-Eyed Ones. On his worldwide search, which takes him and Chiyoko Wato to Arizona, Easter Island and Mexico, among other places, Sharaku deciphers ancient writings and uses devices he has invented to solve (or unravel) problems and mysteries.
